PetO Dogwash – Eltham
PetO needed to install a commercial dog wash facility within its Eltham store, in a location that was convenient and accessible for customers. The designated area was ideal for the dog wash operation, but presented a significant drainage challenge.

Challenge
The dog wash machine needed to be positioned in a specific area of the store, however, there was no access to conventional drainage at the installation point.
The commercial tenancy beneath the store meant that connecting directly to existing drainage was not possible. The only suitable drainage connection was located on the other side of the store, requiring wastewater to travel a considerable distance before reaching the conventional drainage point.
With the facility expected to accommodate regular, high-volume use, the solution needed to reliably manage wastewater while overcoming both the vertical and horizontal distance involved.
Solution
The SFA Sanicom 1 provided a practical solution for the commercial dog wash installation.
The Sanicom 1 is a compact, floor-standing greywater lifting station designed for demanding commercial environments. Its heavy-duty construction and 14-litre tank make it well suited to higher-use applications, while its ability to pump wastewater vertically makes it particularly useful where conventional gravity drainage is not accessible. The unit can pump up to 8 metres vertically and handle water temperatures of up to 90°C for short periods.
Installed to serve the dog wash machine, the Sanicom 1 was selected to overcome the site's significant drainage constraints. The installation required approximately 5 metres of vertical lift and a 25-metre horizontal run across the store to reach the existing drainage connection.
This allowed PetO to position the dog wash where it was most suitable for customers, without being restricted by the location of the existing drainage infrastructure.
The result
The Sanicom 1 enabled PetO to install its commercial dog wash facility in the desired location, despite the lack of conventional drainage access.
By providing a robust pumped drainage solution capable of handling the required lift and distance, the installation overcame a significant site constraint while allowing the store to offer a convenient, accessible dog washing facility to its customers.
